Exam for Admission to Residential Junior Colleges in Telangana
1. Overview
- The TREIS has released the notification for TSRJC CET 2025 (also called TGRJC CET 2025) for admission into Intermediate I Year (Class 11) in its residential junior colleges for the academic year 2025-26.
- Eligible students who wish to join intermediate courses (MPC, BPC, MEC/CEC) in the fully-residential junior colleges in Telangana may apply.

4. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the following to apply:
- Must be a resident of India and have studied only in the State of Telangana.
- Must have passed the qualifying examination (SSC / Class 10 or equivalent) in first attempt in March/April 2025. (Students who passed in earlier years need not apply.)
- For OC (General) candidates: Minimum GPA of 6 in SSC.
- For BC/SC/ST/Minority candidates: Minimum GPA of 5 in SSC.
- All candidates: Minimum GPA of 4 in English subject.
- Reservation criteria apply as per state norms (see Section 5).
5. Reservation & Special Categories
- Reservation breakdown as per notification:
- SC: 15% · ST: 6% · BC-A: 7% · BC-B: 10% · BC-C: 1% · BC-D: 7% · BC-E: 4%
- Special category: PHC (Physically Handicapped): 3% · Sports: 3% · CAP (Children of Armed Personnel): 3%
- Seat allotment under special category is from the common merit list (OC category) for those categories.
- PHC: Minimum disability 40% required, merit in entrance test among PHC candidates applies.
- Sports: Merit in entrance test among Sports category candidates.
- CAP: Parent should be ex-service or in defence, merit basis. (Note: NCC alone not eligible under CAP.)
6. Exam Pattern
- Test type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions) – OMR sheet format.
- Duration: 2½ hours (150 minutes)
- Total marks: 150 (50 marks for each subject in the stream)
- Streams/subject combinations:
- MPC: English + Mathematics + Physical Science
- BPC/BiPC: English + Biological Science + Physical Science
- MEC/CEC: English + Social Studies + Mathematics
- Syllabus: Based on Class 10 (SSC) Telangana State Board syllabus (for Maths, Science, Social Studies). English is General English.
7. Selection Process
- Admission is based on performance in the TSRJC CET 2025, followed by category reservation, local area criteria and seat availability.
- Tie-breaking rules apply (e.g., subject‐wise marks, age, gender preference) as per TREIS norms.
- For MEC/CEC streams: If a candidate opts MEC but is not selected, consideration for CEC (and vice versa) may apply under combined rank.
- After merit list publication, shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling & certificate verification.
